Tap Dancing class
What is Tap
Tap dancing is a Full-Body Workout. An hour of tap dancing can burn anywhere between 200 to 600 calories depending on the pace, the steps sequence, and the effort used in the hour.
The benefits of Tap dancing include increasing cardiovascular conditioning, strength, flexibility, and coordination. Tap dancing combinations build strength in the legs and feet in addition to increasing flexibility in the hips, knees, and ankles.
A key factor in dancing, particularly tap, is balance. It is imperative to have good balance as you move from one foot to another to effectively perform the moves. You are required to keep your weight over your feet which means using deep postural muscles. This helps improve your core as well as your posture.
Tap dancing exercises your Mind as well. A lot of tap dancing is in the rhythm and memorization of the steps, which keeps your mind focused, improving your mental health.
Tap dancing is also Fun and Social! It releases endorphins that make you happy.
